Broward County in South Florida has six jail facilities managed and maintained by the Broward Sheriff's Office. The high humidity of the South Florida climate requires that facilities be regularly maintained and retrofitted so as to prevent corrosion and ensure continued performance of detention equipment and cells.

George A. Keene was called in by Broward County to remove and replace 400 cell doors and frames at one of the county's older institutions.
